Zophar Mills Triple A
No. 20
Heavy Duty Black

A Heavy Duty Protective Coating for Steel

Triple-A No. 20 Heavy Duty Black is formulated from a base of coal tar pitch and is a tough, abrasion-resistant, anti-corrosive coating used for the protection of steel structures and equipment. In addition to its penetrating and anti-corrosive features, No. 20 provides a tough protective film of great durability. The integrity of the film is retained over long periods of service, under the most severe conditions. This is made possible because the coating dries by evaporation, not oxidation.

The coating is highly resistant to attack by alkalies, brime, lime, sulphur, and many types of minerals and organic acids. It is impervious to moisture and withstands the corrosive fumes from ammonia, chlorine, sulphurous acids, sulphate and sulphite.

No. 20 penetrates in to the pits and pores of the steel surface and adheres with a strong and permanent bond. It withstands quick temperature changes and if properly applied will not chip, blister or peel. Resisting heat up to 350° F, the coating has been used very successfully on stacks, breechings, ducts and pipes.
